RED CURRANT

RED CURRANT

With the arrival of summer also the season of our small fruits starts. Let us pause a few minutes on CURRANT, which in some ways constitutes an exception in the world of botany. Starting already from its name which doesn't arrive from Greek or Latin as usually occures in the classifications. And if we imagine it just in red, we are wrong. In the reality, it can be black or white.

The currant is full of vitamins but, to get the maximum benefits we have to wait the currant matures in the sun in the natural way. Our currant starts maturing at the final of may and it is present at the final of august.

It's a good habit to use the curaant as a fruit out of the meal. Many people tranfer it in a pleasent drink. 100 grams of Currant are blended with one litre of water. Or it can be boiled for 5 to 10 minutes one cup of currants with the teaspoon of whole sugar. One teaspoon of this decoction in the morning is very useful to adjust the intestine. It's also a good idea to add the currant in the salad.
